Our Story
My journey with Isleande started in 2017, inspired by an unusually hot summer in Helsinki. After struggling to find comfortable and versatile pieces for my little ones, I found myself overwhelmed by the abundance of loud prints and synthetic textures – completely unsuited for sweltering temperatures. With this in mind, I set out to create a children’s brand that celebrates my own Caribbean heritage and also reflects my love for Nordic – especially Finnish – way of life.
A year later Isleande was founded. Starting with our signature styles the Naantali and Nagu, our mission is to create soft yet sustainable children's clothing with a focus on timeless pieces that are inspired by Nordic and Caribbean summers. Each piece is meant to be lived in and passed on – for little ones to explore the joys of recreational living, and for parents who want to pass on their way of life.

Our Inspiration
The lifestyle surrounding summer cottages is perhaps the most important aspect of Finnish culture. A rite of passage where traditions are passed down through generations. Where a sauna is not simply a hot room, but a space to disarm anxieties and create bonds. Where the scent of birch wood and fresh water become imprinted as childhood memories, and the feel of moss on a barefoot immediately transports you to that special summer. The cottage itself functioning as both the nostalgic home of youth, and a start of a new heritage, that welcoming space where families seek out loved ones.

Isleande (pronounced island) is a women and children resortwear brand created for never ending summers. Inspired by the simple pleasures of Nordic living with a dash of Caribbean charm, we embrace these rich cultures to create timeless pieces of undeniable comfort.
Designed for children aged 1 to 10, the collection features easy-to-wear styles influenced by sauna culture and summer cottage activities from keittiö to kokko and everything in between.
